Description
STARBOROUGH SAUVIGNON BLANC 750 ML
The Marlborough district of New Zealand’s South Island has set the world standard for crisp Sauvignon Blanc wines. Flanked by a ridge of mountains to the west, Marlborough sits on the eastern coast of the island, where minimal rainfall makes it one of the sunniest areas in New Zealand. The long, cool growing season helps the wines here develop rich layers of flavor with a distinct, refreshing character.
Winemaking Notes:
The grapes were de-stemmed and not crushed, but lightly membrane pressed to avoid extracting bitter tannins from the skins. The juice was fermented in upright stainless steel tanks at low temperatures for 21 days and left on light lees during maturation. The wine was then filtered prior to bottling.
Wine Description:
Classic aromas of citrus fruit including lime and grapefruit accented by hints of stone fruit and fresh-cut grass. Passion fruit, guava and kiwi harmonize on the palate with hints of fresh green notes, complemented by crisp acidity and a juicy, refreshing finish.
