Description
Cristom, Eola-Amity Hills Chardonnay
Sustainable farming, native yeast fermentation, French barrel aging, and minimal intervention—that’s the Cristom way, deep in Willamette Valley’s prized sub-appellation of Eola-Amity Hills. In less than 30 years, they’ve gone from unknown to elite producer, and have earned several spots in my “best of” lists. The 2018 marks the inaugural release of the Eola-Amity Hills Chardonnay featuring fruit from their own estate Louise and Paul Gerrie vineyards, as well as five other noted neighboring sites in the appellation. The tasting experience is a masterclass on authentic Oregon Chardonnay and is an absolute must for anyone who is (1) training for a blind-tasting exam or (2) well, anyone.
