The André Vatan “Maulin Bèle” offers incredible value, explosive fruit, mineral freshness, and a terroir character that distinguishes it from every other Pinot Noir on the planet. It’s extremely hard to find a single-site Sancerre Rouge from 30- to 40-year-old vines at this price. The 2018 has a highly reflective light ruby core moving to light ruby and garnet hues on the rim. The aromatics are bright with aromas of wild raspberry, strawberry, fresh roses, and wet forest floor along with a heavy influence of crushed limestone and a hint of Christmas spices. The palate is soft with extremely juicy wild berry fruits, extremely thirst-quenching, and mineral-driven with refreshing acidity. You can feel the liveliness preserved in this wine. The combination of purity and freshness makes for the perfect “Bistro Drinker”!
